give away

Aisha, the on-line shopper and my first giveaway courtesy of CSN stores!

Recently, one of my friends asked Aisha now that you have a baby do you still have time to go to the mall? To which I stared at her for a minute thinking, still? as in I was at the mall weekly before? It felt like she didn’t know me at all. While I don’t mind the mall and can happily spend half a day there with friends or family, going by myself just bores me. Most of my shopping is done online- its easy, convenient, and often cheaper. So I was pleasantly surprised when the awesome CSN stores contacted me to do a give-away of a $25 gift code you can use to buy anything at over 200 of their on-line stores which sellΒ  everything from wall art and decor to tons of baby and child-related things!

I had the option to review or do a giveaway but I wanted to do a giveaway because simply put, you guys are awesome and I appreciate you more than you know. I don’t get paid to blog but knowing you read motivates me to write on a regular basis.

If you want to enter its simple, just leave a comment letting me know you’re interested in the $25 CSN Stores giveaway. To get entered twice, [or just to make my day- your pick] you can click ‘follow’ on the right and just let me know! If you already follow just let me know in the comments! You can connect with gmail, yahoo, AIM, openID or twitter.

I’m not getting compensated for this, its a fun opportunity I wanted to share to someone who reads this blog. As of now CSN stores only ship to the U.S. and Canada. Entries for this giveaway end February 4! I will pick a randomly selected winner the next day!

Q4U: Do you do most of your shopping on-line or in a physical place?Β

  1. I'd like to enter the giveaway πŸ™‚

As for my shopping habits – I *love* to browse online and I love the variety at my fingertips but I usually buy in person to avoid shipping costs unless it's something really unique that I can't find locally.

BTW, I already subscribe via Google reader … Not sure what that Google Friend Connect/Follow thing is but I'll click it πŸ™‚

  3. Hey Aisha, I saw your comment. It is hard to not feel overwhelmed — being a mom is such a huge responsibility and it's not like anyone included an instruction book! =) I definitely have my days where I reach my limit, but I think the main things that keep me from feeling overwhelmed are:
    1) a dependable, reliable schedule
Knowing that no matter how frustrating the day might be, I get from 7:15pm on to relax, read, hang out, watch TV whatever. And I know I get 8 hours of sleep. The rest of my schedule can sometimes change or get thrown, but these things give me time to refresh.
    2) A wonderful support system
I get LOTS of breaks. Lately I go out to eat on Friday nights with my DH while his parents handle the 6pm feed (this is doable because the babies go down so easily afterwards since they can fall asleep on their own, making people way more likely to offer to babysit quads haha). On Sunday afternoons my DH watches the kids and I take a nap (I have a box fan in my room to drown out the noise … also, a box fan in the babies' rooms has saved my butt from nap interruptions, they can't hear traffic, noise in the house, each other, etc). So getting these breaks is a major must!
    3) Wine. No, really. A small glass of white wine at 5pm on the days when I am beginning to feel my nerves go on edge from stress. It relaxes me just enough to not feel overwhelmed.
    4) Fixed routines for laundry and dishes (so you can just do it without thinking/stressing)
    5) Being sure I get showered and dressed 99% of the time makes me feel like I can handle it!
    6) Organizing bottles, feedings, calendar, prepacked diaper bag always on hand etc. so I always know I'm ready and don't spend time stressing on what they are eating today or if I am ready to leave the house, etc.

I hope this helps some. Thinking of you!

  4. Count me in for the giveaway. I love free money. Actually, count me in twice, because I also love making people's days. (I'll probably show up under my old blogger name in the follow list – Elle-MΓͺme.)

I do most of my shopping in stores. I like to look online but would rather be there in person to see/touch/try on. I'm also usually torn between my love of supporting small businesses, and my love of Target.

Bakery, thanks for the entry and dropping by πŸ™‚ That's a good point about shopping in stores- I think for clothing I do most of that in person sinc eI want to try it on, other things I'm open to getting online. I've added you to my g-reader, love your writing. I don't see you showing up on my “follow” list, maybe I'm missing it. Let me know!

  10. What a fun giveaway! Please count me in! I find I shop online at stores I'm familiar with online- for example, I'll order pants from the Limited online only because I'm familiar with the sizes in the store. I almost never order from new stores which is kinda sad (think of all the missed shopping opportunities) πŸ™‚

  11. Lawyers- not ordering from new stores must make the new stores sad too, lol. I am the same way though- I have my tried and true brands and I rarely deviate! ah well. πŸ™‚

  14. OK, sign me up. I'm a follower too! I just have commented until now, because I was waiting to get solid access to my computer rather than trying to comment via thumbs and phone.

I tend to do a lot of shopping via the internet, either that or at Target. I actually think that I bought this great display bookshelf for Bear's room at CSN.

  15. It let me put whatever I wanted as my name for your follow list. So I'm just “Marie” – no last name, no picture. Sorry for the confusion.

What's a g-reader? Is this some magical way for me to read all the wordpress and blogger blogs I want to follow, all at the same time? (On WP, I can see my subscriptions as they're posted, but I've just been bookmarking and sporadically checking the blogger ones…)

And thank you for the compliment on my writing ❀
