Ferdinand remains so

Nearly two years ago, I posted a blog post about how I don’t like confrontations which is a bit counter intuitive considering my chosen profession is law. I ended that post with: Maybe time will teach me how to embrace it. Maybe 2 years from now I’ll eagerly hop into the boxing ring like Muhammad Ali. Still not there yet. Now I wonder if I ever will, and on a deeper level, if I even should.

  1. I am an attorney, and I totally know how you feel! I am a “nice girl,” but I will fight my way out if I pushed into a corner, and only then, and that’s the way I like it. I like to think that being mild-mannered most of the time gives those rare times when I get angry more impact.

  2. salam sisi’ve been dropping by your blog from time to time, because your optimism was enlightening and contagious, and for that i thank you. ๐Ÿ™‚when you mentioned the ferdinand post, my jaw dropped because i remember reading that post, which means i’ve been dropping by for almost 2 years now, without saying anything!on being a lawyer and disliking confrontations, i can relate. i’m about to graduate from law school myself (in april insya Allah) and am now wondering what exactly was it that made me want to be a lawyer when i so hate confrontations. i’d rather avoid them as much as i can.on the other hand though, i like proving people wrong. does that count? ๐Ÿ˜‰again, thank you for your posts. they keep me chirpy. a hello from malaysia, and i hope you solve your conundrum, as i hope to solve mine!

  3. Sadeya, haha yeah I guess!Anon- thanks for sharing your similar feelings. In some ways it is the best way to get things done but the wear and tear on your spirits can ache after some time though.Rasha- I don’t know… it’s a live event and I don’t know how much it would retain the attention of an 18 month old… it can also get quiet so if your baby cries it would distract others… its pretty much the same question to ask when taking your child to a movie or any other public venue event where you’ll have to sit for a long stretch of time. I personally, would probably not do it, but it depends on your baby and how they handle such an environment. Mystic- sometimes, but in law… that option is more often the case than not!Lubnaa- thanks for delurking and commenting! It warms my heart to know ๐Ÿ™‚ If you love to prove other people wrong, then you are certainly in the right profession! How awesome you’re in Malaysia ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope to one day visit, I heard your country is beautiful!
